Most people want to make a difference. We want to make an impact on the world we live and the people we come into contact with.
The problem is a lot of us don’t know where to begin or what to do. Sometimes it seems as if we have this desire deep inside of us to change the world for the better, but we aren’t sure what that looks like.
Should we join the military, should we go on a foreign mission trip, should we work for a non-profit that hopes to bring about change? The questions are there but the answers are a little harder to find.
Joining the military, going on a mission trip, or working for a helpful organization are all great endeavors, but for many of us, a little out of our reach.
So your next question may be, what can I do? Let me give you one answer, PRAY!
PRAY, and not just any prayer, but pray to end Abortion!
Sign me up!
40 Days for Life is an internationally coordinated campaign that seeks to end abortion at the local level through PRAYER and fasting community outreach, and a peaceful vigil in front of an abortion business.
Right to Life of Kern County will be hosting the spring campaign for 40 Days for Life. From February 22nd through April 2nd we will be standing vigil at the FPA clinic on 25th and H st. Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Volunteers, like you, are asked to sign up for one hour shifts, multiple shifts are encouraged, where you will be in a time of quiet prayer for those going into the clinic as well as those who work in the clinic.
Our presence outside the facility serves as a powerful message to the community about the tragedy of abortion.
Prayer Changes lives!
Prayer is defined as “a solemn request for help or expression of thanks addressed to God”. This is our time to come together to pray for an end to abortion and for lives to be changed for the better.
The first campaign for 40 Days for Life was in 2007, since then over 1000 cities in 63 countries have been involved. These campaigns have seen over 22 thousand lives changed, 247 abortion workers have quit their jobs and 132 abortion centers have closed.
During the campaign time abortion clinics have reported that their no-show rate reaches 75%. Because of prayer, vulnerable women do not show up to their appointment. That’s amazing and something I want to be involved in.
Will you join us? Will you commit to filling one hour shifts for a time of peaceful prayer?
